Difficulity in trusting others

The second sub-assignment was related to the theme "Difficulity in trusting others". There were no specifics (ie. make a movie), so the teachers and students had different approaches. For example 3rd graders had classroom conversations and an cartoon project, 6th graders practiced trust with a blind drawing (one student guiding his/her friend who has a blind fold on their eyes) and 5th grade, future erasmus-travelling students, made an excellent video with correct and incorrect solutions of common school situations. Below you can find some of the finished works.

The Erasmus+ project also encourages every single student of our school to think about the different aspects of bullying. How? During the two years of this collaboration, several sub-topic related tasks will be done in every country. The first one was about low self-esteem. These little tasks are a great way to unleash the creative potential of our students while still discussing a subject of great matter. In the link below you can find some pictures of our works:

The start of a new year

In last december it was Finland's turn to shine and host activities for other teachers and students. The local newspaper (Lempäälän-Vesilahden Sanomat) published a short article about the event. The school of Lempoinen is taking part in an Erasmus+ -project during this and the following year. The theme of this project is combating and preventing bullying in schools. In total there are seven countries involved: Finland, England, Germany, Turkey, Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal. Finland received guests in 28.11 - 4.12. International teachers and english kids enjoyed the hotel while other students were placed in host families.

The week was full of different events ranging from welcoming assembly on monday, ice skating, gingerbread cookie baking to grande finale of international evening on thursday, where food and presentations from all over the Europe were presented. 

In Kaupinojan sauna the guests got to try traditional finnish sauna and ice swimming (in an iceless lake though). Verso and välkkäri trainings were offered too. The school was decorated to fit the christmas mood, the hallways had different flags and presentations hanging. 

Erasmus+ -project continues in early march with a trip to Portugal.

Välkkäri

The Project has officially started. While some of our staff are currently in England our students have made yet another, short video clip. The video is about "Välkkäri" -activity we do here in Lempoinen. This is something our international guests get to experience themselves once they arrive in Finland in late November. Getting ready

This year the school of Lempoinen takes part in an international project called Erasmus+. The purpose of this project is to combat and prevent bullying in schools of Europe. In short, every country alternates as a host country and organizes events for the visiting teachers and students. In addition to Finland, there are six countries with us: Germany, Portugal, Slovakia, England, Hungary and Turkey. Each of these countries have their own sub-topic. Finland focuses on sports.

The preparations have started. The school of Lempoinen eagerly waits for our international guests to arrive. While waiting, students have made a video that's designed to introduce our school. In future, this page will publish videos and texts regarding Erasmus+.
